What is Electrolysis? Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. It's a safe and effective solution for destroying the hair follicle, preventing hair from ever growing back. How Does It Work? A trained electrologist inserts a very fine, sterile probe into the natural opening of the hair follicle, right next to the hair. A tiny amount of electrical current is then delivered to the root, destroying the hair growth cells. The treated hair is then easily removed with tweezers. Who Does It Work On? Electrolysis is effective for all hair colors (including blonde, gray, and red) and all skin tones. It is a versatile treatment for virtually any area of the face and body. How Many Sessions Do I Need? Since hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are necessary to treat every hair while it is in its active growth phase. The total number of sessions varies greatly from person to person based on the amount of hair, the area being treated, and individual hair growth patterns. We will create a personalized treatment plan during your consultation. How Effective is It? Electrolysis is highly effective and is considered the gold standard for permanent hair removal, delivering lasting results once the full treatment plan is completed. How Do I Prep for My Treatment? For the best results: * Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Avoid excessive caffeine and alcohol, which can dehydrate your skin. * Allow hair to grow: Do not wax, tweeze, or pluck. We need about 1-3mm of hair growth (about 2-4 days after shaving) to successfully treat the follicle. You may trim or shave, but stop at least 3 days before your session. * Come clean: Ensure the treatment area is clean and free of makeup, lotions, or oils.
